We are now closed!
The shop closed its doors forever on Saturday March 24th. Making the decision to close was just as hard, if not harder, a decision to make as when I originally opened. The winds of change are now taking me in a different direction, and so I must now let go of the yarn shop. New challenges await me, and I am ready to take them on.
I am very proud of what I have created here at Anacapa Fine Yarns. I know what a great place I have brought to this community, and that the shop means a lot to many people. We have been more than just a retail establishment. Friends have been made here. We have watched families be created and grow. Some have moved to other areas. We have also lost many friends who have left this world, each one leaving a hole in our hearts.
Thanks to all of you that have come through our doors and helped the shop to be a success. Your loyalty over the years has been much appreciated.
I also want to thank my devoted, hard working staff. Karin, Anne and Kaity (and Terry and all those that came before). The knitting knowledge that we have amassed under one roof was unmatched. Knitting is what brought us together, but our relationships go beyond our love of yarn. We have truly become family, we've been together so long and have been through so much together. I am the luckiest person in the world to have had such beautiful, strong, creative women come into my life and be such a big part of it for so many years.
You may be hearing from me from time to time, I may continue to dabble in some fiber related ventures and I am going to participate in the Alzheimer's Association Longest Day event again this year.
If you would like to stay in touch with me, you will still be able to reach me by email at email@example.com. Eventually that email address may disappear, so you can also contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I will miss you all!
