Today is Day 3 of the Year Round Wreath KAL! Today is the day I crochet the flowers to attach to the wreath and get it all finished up! I finished seaming it the other day:
And got going on my crocheted flowers this morning!
The last day of the Knit-a-Long is next Tuesday, when we show off the finished wreath, so check back and see it completed, or you could come to our Show and Tell tonight and see it in person!
Hi everyone! Today is Day 2 of the Year-Round Wreath Knit-a-Long hosted by Ewe Ewe Yarns. You can find all the info about this knit-a-long on their blog, and click here (or scroll down!) to see my post from Day 1!
So far I've picked out the colors for my wreath, cast-on, and knit the covering that gets seamed around the wreath:
This morning I started the seaming progress. It's stitched together with one of my favorite techniques, Mattress Stitch.
The third Day of the Knit-a-Long will be posted Thursday (October 15th), when I get to crochet up some flowers to decorate my wreath with. I'm having a lot of fun making this project, and if any of you are knitting-a-long, please let me know, I'd love to see your progress! It's also not too late to join the fun, swing by the shop and pick out your colors or Ewe Ewe Wooly Worsted today.
One of our favorite yarns here at Anacapa Fine Yarns is Ewe Ewe Wooly Worsted. It's soft, washable, and coming in a wide range of great colors. The great people over at Ewe Ewe Yarns are hosting a Knit-a-Long this month for their super cute "Year Round Wreath". Throughout the next few weeks on their blog, they will be posting how-tos and tips for knitting the wreath, how to put it together, and how to decorate it with cute crocheted flowers.
This is a great project for newer knitters and crocheters, because the knitting itself is super simple, as well as the crocheting for the flower decorations. If you knit but don't crochet, you could decorate the wreath with fake flowers or leaves or ornaments from the craft store - the sky is the limit!
The most fun part of the KAL is picking out the colors you will use to make your wreath! Make it red, white, and green for Christmas, choose shades of blue for Hanukkah, or make it red, white, and blue for the 4th of July. Ewe Ewe Yarns has put together some ideas for color combinations as well. Choose one of these combos or put together your own!
For all the info on this project, click here, and follow along here on our blog as we Knit-a-Long with you! Here are the colors I chose for mine:
Join us in knitting along with Ewe Ewe Yarns, and check back here next Tuesday, October 13th to see my progress so far!
