World Wide Knit in Public Day

Saturday, June 8th through Sunday, June 16th is designated World Wide Knit in Public Week.
Anacapa Fine Yarns is going to be hosting WWKIP Day on Saturday, June 8th. Many of us knit in public on a regular basis, but this is an opportunity to knit in public in force!
This year we are going to 'hang out' at the Coffee Bean at the corner of Main and Telephone, from 11AM to 3PM. Last year we went to the Coffee Bean in the Pacific View Mall, but we think being on the corner of Main and Telephone will be even more 'in public' then the mall, and if you have a yarn
emergency, it's right down the street from the shop!

9th Anniversary Celebration and Bag Sale

Anacapa Fine Yarns will be celebrating its ninth anniversary on Saturday, June 15th from 10AM to 5PM. It's incredible to think that we have been here for nine years now! Please join us for this special day. We will have door prizes, raffles, snacks, and fiber fun. We will once again offer bags of yarn on sale for 30-60% off (Saturday and Sunday). Come early for best selection. Doors open at 10AM

Ventura County Fair
Fair Entries and Demonstration Volunteers
The Ventura County Fair will be here soon. The fair dates this year are July 31st through August 11th. This years' theme is 'Boots, Barns & Banjos'. If you are a Ventura County resident, you can submit your projects in a variety of categories. You can provide inspiration for all of us who love meandering through the Home Arts Building admiring what others create. Make Anacapa Fine Yarns proud. Show your stuff!!
Anacapa Fine Yarns will provide knitting demonstrations in the Home Arts Building at the fair. We have lots of fun talking to people about knitting and crochet and letting them know about the shop. We will be looking for volunteers to help us with our demonstration. Dates of the demos are yet to be determined, but it will include weekends of the fair plus some dates during the week. If interested, call the shop for more details. A sign-up sheet will be available starting in July.

Drop In Assistance- Don't understand the pattern? Need some help getting started with a new project? We can help. Free Drop In Class with your yarn purchase at Anacapa Fine Yarns. ($8 Drop In Fee for projects not purchased at the shop). We want you to feel the satisfaction of having completed a beautiful project!
Friday Morning Charity Knitters & Crocheters- Get together to knit or crochet for a good cause! We are now working on hats for cancer patients; hats, gloves and blankets for the homeless; and baby blankets for babies of the girls at the VC Crisis Pregnancy Center. Local hospitals and charities are the recipient of all of these projects. This group meets every Friday morning from 10 am to noon.
Thursday Night Social- Everyone is welcome to this informal knitting, crochet, spinning and weaving group. It's fun to get together with others that share your passion for fiber arts. Meet new people, get inspiration for new projects, and make new friends. Bring a project and join the fun. KTOG is from 6 pm to 9 pm, shop is also open during this time.
